Who We Are
Thimzy Empowerment Initiative (TEI) is a dynamic, women-led social impact organization committed to transforming the lives of vulnerable women and girls in Sierra Leone through sustainable empowerment, inclusive opportunities, and community-driven solutions. Founded in 2017 as Limitless Foundation, the organization has evolved. TEI is a legally registered entity in Sierra Leone (National Youth Commission, Corporate Affairs Commission, NRA, Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs), operating with a strong non-profit orientation and a passion for social change.
At the heart of TEI’s work is the belief that empowered women and girls create stronger families, safer communities, and more prosperous nations. Through its innovative Empowerment Ecosystem Model, the organization focuses on three strategic pillars: Education, Economic Security, and Sexual & Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR).
TEI designs and implements impactful programs that address the real needs of marginalized populations, primarily including survivors of gender-based violence, out-of-school girls, young women facing unemployment, commercial sex workers, and incarcerated women. Its interventions include vocational and entrepreneurial training, mentorship, leadership development, advocacy, life-skills education, financial literacy, empowerment hubs (safe spaces), and community engagement initiatives.
Thimzy empowerment Initiative also offers consultancy services working with institutions, individuals, and organizations seeking capacities in Entrepreneurship, Organizational Development, Systems strengthening, Leadership and Soft Skills, and professional business development.
Our Purpose
In Sierra Leone, many teenage girls are forced to abandon their educational aspirations due to financial barriers. This reality leaves them vulnerable to harmful coping strategies, such as early marriage, commercial sex work, street hawking, theft, and teenage pregnancy. Thimzy Empowerment Initiative aims to break this cycle by providing the resources, skills, and support needed to help these young women and girls reclaim their futures.
